What is Senior Care Psychological Consulting ?

Care Psychological Consulting is a comprehensive counseling and
assessment psychology practice, providing for the special needs of the
senior members of our community. Owned and operated by a
geriatric psychologist
with over a decade of experience providing for the needs of geriatric
patients, Senior Care Psychological Consulting psychologists and
counselors provide counseling and assessment services in an
office-based practice in St. Charles, Missouri, on-site at
nursing homes
and assisted- living facilities, and
even make house calls when necessary and available. Senior Care
Psychological Consulting therapists are well-trained in contemporary
methods of psychological testing, assessment and treatment, and
currently are in the process of developing research to quantify the
effectiveness of their treatment process, as well as a pain management
program to assist physicians, individuals and families in the
psychological aspects of pain management.
The mental health
needs of our older citizens are now becoming recognized as an
important component of their overall sense of quality of life and
mortality. Recent research has identified that depression increases
the risk of mortality among elderly patients with cardiovascular
disease, cancer, and many other medical illnesses. This leads to
over-utilization of health care resources, reduced quality of life and
unnecessary, excess disability. Senior Care Psychological Consulting
seeks to significantly improve the quality of life and wellbeing of
its patients, assist them in maintaining as high a level of physical
and psychological functioning as possible, and a healthier, happier

However, services are also provided in nursing homes, assisted living
facilities and in personal residences upon request.
